DataLyzer® FMEA

More and more companies are using FMEA as an essential step in their continuous improvement program. FMEA, control planning and SPC have a logical connection.
Starting with the FMEA process products and processes or detection techniques will be improved. Constant feedback should be provided from SPC results on the shop floor to engineers responsible for the FMEA process. DataLyzer FMEA is a module where all data is integrated in the DataLyzer database providing the possibility to exchange SPC and FMEA/Control Planning information between the different employees supporting the requirement that FMEA's and Control Plans are truelly living documents.

Contents DataLyzer FMEA

DataLyzer® FMEA is the latest module in the DataLyzer software suite. For now this page contains a short summary of the basic functionality of the DataLyzer FMEA module. This webpage is under construction.

DataLyzer® FMEA will operate stand-alone or it will link to the DataLyzer® Spectrum SPC module. The program closely follows the methodology defined in TS16949. The components of the FMEA module are:

  • Setup
    During the setup phase of the software tables for data entry are defined like frequencies, subgroupsizes, responsible teams etc. Teh tables for severity, occurance and detection are established. Classification and symbols for special chaarcters are setup. Alarm levels for RPN numbers or severity are defined.
  • FMEA
    The software allows data entry according to "What you see is what you get". This means when a team comes together you can view the development of the FMEA on screen. 
  • Control Plan
    The Control Plan can be linked to the FMEA. Predefined tables can speed up the data entry process. The control plan can be shown during SPC chart creation to make sure SPC and FMEA/Control Planning is an integrated approach.  
  • Open actions
    Actions not completed in any of the FMEA's can be reported in an open action list. From this list you have direct access to the FMEA.
