DataLyzer SPC vision
DataLyzer® Spectrum has been designed with the different functions of the organization in mind. The system must be:
- easy to install and upgrade
- easy to setup
- efficient in collecting data from different data sources
- user friendly with a logical user interface for the operator on the shop floor
- provide quick and powerful analysis and reports for the managers and engineers
- company wide performance reports for top management to drive the improvement process both for quality and productivity improvement (OEE is fully integrated).
DataLyzer® Spectrum Architecture
To realize the requirements for a company wide SPC system supporting all departments DataLyzer is storing the data in industry standard databases like MS Access®, SQL Server® or Oracle®. The database structure is fully available for the end user providing maximum import and export possibilities. Conversion between databases is fully supported for upgrading or exchanging information between different locations.
To support the different functions separate modules are developed:
DataLyzer Spectrum stand-alone : This module is being used for system setup and reporting.
DataLyzer network: The network module is an addition to the stand-alone module and allows for remote data entry and monitor hundreds of control charts real-time in the network overview screen.
DataLyzer Satellite: This module is being used on the shop floor by operators for remote data entry.
DataLyzer Executive Monitor: This module allows executives to monitor the status of the charts and print reports.
The modules Gage Management, FMEA and DataLyzer SPC Wizard described in the website complete the software suite
Features
- DataLyzer® Spectrum offers industry-standard operation under Windows® 7, Vista, XP/NT/2000 and Citrix®.
- Built-in multilingual support (English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese and 6 more) for better acceptance of the software.
- Real-time data entry and analysis for Variable and Attribute chart types provide instant feedback and response to process problems.
- Overall Equipment effectiveness (OEE) data entry and reporting is fully integrated providing teh organization with one interface and one system for quality and productivity improvement
- Quickly define characteristics to be charted. Duplicate parts and characteristics to quickly build the database.
- Define characteristic-specific measuring instructions to be accessed during data entry. This standardizes the measurement process and minimizes supervisory oversight and involvement.
Features
- Attach predefined work instruction documents or graphic files which already exist can also be attached to each characteristic. Numerous file types are supported including: doc, jpg, gif, mpeg, avi, txt, xls, and many more.
- Attach out of control action flow charts in case of out of control with pre-defined causes and action notes linking your FMEA process to your real-time SPC. A Pareto chart of these notes can also be produced.
- Configure DataLyzer® to send E-mail alerts to engineers or management as soon data is collected out of control or exceeding specifications.
- HTML report formatting automatically posts reports to any existing intranet.
- Create and assign numerous parameters per part to assign traceability information to each subgroup of collected data. Examples include Lot#, Shift, OperatorID, etc. Parameters allow filtering specific conditions during analysis.
- DataLyzer® Spectrum-SPC will automatically calculate control limits or the system administrator can set limits manually. Real-time statistical indicators show more than twenty alarm conditions in red, green, yellow and other color flags.
- Real time analysis of statistics including all Western Electric rules and capability indices (Cp, Cpk, Cpr, Pp, Ppk, Ppr, NCP, NCpk, NCpr, PPM)
- Store unlimited sets of stepped control limits to track intermittent process shifts. The user simply stops and restarts control limits by accessing a screen button labeled "CL Set" with a mouse or hot key.
- User-selectable process shift and stratification analyses, including Western Electric run and trend rules, allow immediate detection of process shifts and nonrandom conditions within control limits.
- Math functions can be applied to incoming raw data, process parameters and data from other characteristics. This eliminates the need for recalculations during input. Entire subgroups may be derived automatically from functional combinations of other characteristics in a sequence.
- Point and click facilities on control chart for Excluding and Deleting points, subgroup edit, setting control limits and note entry.
- Built-in user definable drivers connect to all RS-232-compatible or USB-gages and interfaces.
- Data can be automatically imported from any data source.
- A fully functional DLL is available for further integration of DataLyzer in your own GUI or for integrating specific devices or software programs with DataLyzer.
- Dozens of different reports are available to support different processes related to SPC.
- Many different specific features for specific industries or countries like legal weight control for food industry, FDA control regulations for pharmaceutical industry, group control charts, attribute categories, cumulative count of conformity (CCC) charts for high quality processes, DPMO calculations according to IPC regulations etc etc

Implementation
Although DataLyzer® Spectrum is user friendly and flexible we are not going to promise you that implementing SPC with DataLyzer® Spectrum is easy. Implementing SPC is a major project which requires careful planning. By using DataLyzer® Spectrum during the implementation and with our extensive expertise you can avoid some of the pitfalls and are more likely to get the results from the implementation.
This support includes training in the underlying techniques like FMEA, MSA and SPC on operator and expert level.
